What is a Content Plan?

A content plan is a comprehensive plan that looks your complete sales funnel and touch points for prospective and active customers.  It allows you to know what content you are going to produce as far as 12 months ahead.

Many people think it is all about social media posting, but that is just one element.

When creating your content plan, you need to add into the mix

What are the benefits of creating your content plan?

The overarching benefit of having a great content plan is that you know what content you need to produce in advance. It can be planned, created, and scheduled.

No more head scratching, wondering what on earth to put out there today!


If you promote certain products/services at certain times of year, or you celebrate milestones such as your business birthday, for example, having the content planned in advance will be incredibly beneficial.


You may have a team involved in content creation. A graphic designer or photographer for instance. If everyone knows what is coming up… content creation is no longer a last minute headache!

What does the content planning session include?

This is a guided session which means you are creating your content plan as you go.

The first stage is to create content pillars for your overall offering.


We then move on to break down the different services/products you offer and identify each target audience. 


Call To Actions (CTAs) are next. What are the different ways your prospective customers get in touch with you.


We create a contact template for reference – covering all methods of contact, including social media platforms.


Then its on to looking at the different types of content and identifying which perform best, where. 


Your brand message, including your tone of voice, is identified. You need to show your brand personality and keep it consistent no matter where someone sees it.


We document your customers pain points (problems) and how you solve them, including the questions you are asked most often. 


The final step is to identify who contributes to creating your content.


You will walk away at the end of the session with a detailed business content plan, which will save you and your team hours of time.
